ABOUT GDO PROJECT

GDO Project is a Belgian design studio dedicated to creating furniture and objects through a locally rooted and materially conscious approach.
The studio works with regional manufacturers, artists and artisans.
The studio develops its collections from resources sourced directly by founder Guillaume d’Oultremont in the region of Presles, in Belgium. The wood used in the projects comes from storm-fallen or diseased trees, reflecting the growing impact of climate change on Wallonia’s forests. Giving new life to this timber through thoughtful design and craftsmanship transforms a valuable resource into lasting works of beauty.
The region is also rich in natural clay. Landslides and streams expose its geological layers, offering access to material. By reducing the distance between sourcing and manufacturing, the studio promotes a responsible model of production.

GDO PROJECT x STUDIO MAX REUL

GDO Project kicked off with a signature capsule furniture collection crafted in collaboration with artist Studio Max Reul.

This collection is crafted from century-old, sustainably sourced oak and black walnut from the Wallonia region. Each piece is meticulously handmade in Belgium at the workshop in Presles or in Goé. Individually numbered and signed, available in limited editions or by commission. Conceived as functional artworks, the pieces explore the expressive potential of wood, surface transformation and manual finishing.

Studio Max Reul is a multitalented practice specialised in sculptural shaping of furniture. Working from a state of the art workshop in Goé, his strong, powerful yet clean, smooth style conveys emotion and elegance.

GDO Project invites visitors to reflect on the intersection of sustainability and craftsmanship in contemporary design, exploring how furniture can be a lasting part of our cultural and environmental narrative.
